The Maldivian Culture carries a considerable Islamic imprint reflected in the Sufi Dhikr ceremonies called Mauludu, the dress, and the architecture of the mosques. The Dhivehi language of Maldives, however, is related to the Sinhala language of Sri Lanka. Its present day Script Thaana  is written from right to left like Arabic.
