Khuda ki Basti is a 1970s classic depicting life in Slums of Pakistan.

The Pakistani Drama serial portrays the plight of Women in Pakistan.

Ashfaq Ahmed’s “Fahmida Ki Kahani, Ustaani Rahat ki Zabani” is an excellent portrayal of class inequalities in Pakistan.

Nur ul Huda Shah’s “Ab Mera Intizar Kar” is a good portrayal of life marriage practices and love among working class families of Pakistan.

Sabiha Sumar’s “Khamoosh Pani” is an excellent movie about the women caught in the violence of 1947 Indo-Pakistan Partition and their lives in Pakistan till modern times.

Satyajit Ray’s “Shatranj Kay Khilarri” is an awesome depiction of the history of scak of Awadh by the East India company in 1856. It is based on a story by Munshi Prem Chand.

M.S. Sathyu’s “Garam Hawa” excellently captures the plight of families caught in the travails of 1947 Partition of the Indo-Pakistan.
